Go, Humans, Go!

Saw THIS on the side of a bus this morning as I was walking to work in the rain...again.

I can't tell if I should be encouraged by the Quaker man, or if he is taunting me as he rushes by, splashing dirty street water on my shoes.

Maybe I should just take the subliminal message for what it is and start eating more Oatmeal.

I still think that mostly I dislike being told what to do...particularly by a smirking Quaker man plastered to the side of a Mass Transit vehicle.

I must admit, I love the new oatmeal advertising. Maybe I'd feel differently if I were in the rain, but in non-rainy life, I'm a sucker. Sometimes I even tell myself (very quietly) "Go, Human, go!" and I go.

The utter lack of mass transit here has left me quaker-maninspiration-less. Rude.

Guess who? :) I found your blog through Lindsey's blog and have LOL more than once catching up on your happenings. :) You're just a hop, skip, and a jump away from us here in Charlotte! We've been meaning to drive up and check out D.C. since we're so close, but (yes, I just threw in a 'but') we're not exactly sure a vacation consisting of walking great distances and looking at historical monuments would captivate the minds of a 3 and 2 year old. And I'm pretty sure our 4 month old would just sleep the whole time. ;) Justin and I may leave the boys with some friends and drive up ourselves for a weekend (with the baby) this summer. I would love to see everything!

What's your email?! I'd love to catch up and see what took you to D.C.!

Oh my gosh! The first time I saw this ad I had so much to say about it. Here, I will only state that I find it ballsy of Quaker to assume that they are the kind of brand that no longer needs to remind us of who they are via the printed word "Quaker" and thinks that they can rely solely on the image of their pilgrimish old man. Hate to break it to them, but frankly, it took me a few minutes to figure out what on earth was being sold. Arrogant of them, no? I just don't think they're at that level yet. I mean, how many people these days eat oatmeal???

Is it a man or a women? Actually after the slogan I've decided it, is actually a alien. What is this go, human, go business?!
